In the ocean, there are no boundaries, only the wind and your imagination.
Robby Naish
There is something truly transformative about stepping away from the daily grind and immersing yourself completely in the world of wind and water.
Our most recent Kite & Explore camp in Mauritius was more than just a series of lessons, it was a full throttle lifestyle experience.
We gathered a community of like minded riders at our home base in the North, utilizing the sprawling lagoons and world class conditions that make this island a kitesurfing mecca.
From sunrise sessions to sunset debriefs, the camp was designed to push boundaries, build confidence and create a “tribe” atmosphere that you simply don’t get in a standard hourly lesson.
The "Kite & Explore" Philosophy
A Kiteaholic Bastard camp is built on the pillars of immersion and exploration.
During the V2 camp, we moved beyond the basic boundaries of the school’s daily routine.
While we spent significant time at our favorite shallow water spot in Anse la Raie, the “Explore” part of the title meant we ventured out to discover the diverse conditions Mauritius offers.
The camp catered to both beginners and advanced riders, providing a structured environment where everyone could progress.
With the support of our IKO-certified coaches and high end Duotone and Airush gear, participants were able to focus entirely on their riding, knowing every safety detail and logistical hurdle was handled by the team.
What Makes Our Camps Unique:
- Total Immersion: 24/7 kiteboarding lifestyle and community.
- Spot Variety: Exploring multiple locations beyond the main school base.
- Professional Coaching: Intensive sessions with IKO instructors and radio feedback.
- Premium Demo Gear: Opportunity to test the latest models from Duotone & Airush.
- Adventure First: Beyond the riding—downwinders, trips, and local exploration.
Building the Tribe: Beyond the Water
While the hours spent on the water are the heart of the camp, the moments on land are what make it unforgettable.
Whether it was the shared meals after a long day in the sun, the technical video analysis sessions or the stories told over a cold drink as the sun dipped below the horizon, the V1 and V2 camps have always been about the people.
We’ve seen students arrive as strangers and leave as a cohesive group of friends planning their next trip to Rodrigues or Zanzibar.
If you missed out on this edition, stay tuned—our kite camps are a recurring highlight of the Kiteaholic Bastard calendar, and the next adventure is always just over the horizon.
